In the News: Reminder: Longview water committee presentation tonight

Posted: Thursday, August 20

Longview's water committee will give its recommendation to City Council tonight.

The committee, formed as part of a water supply study launched last summer, is recommending the city move its water source from the Mint Farm to the Cowlitz River via riverbed Ranney wells.

The supply switch is expected to cost $30 million to $55 million — a $5 to $13 monthly rate hike.

There will be a report and presentation tonight on what led to that decision and what comes next — should the Council follow through with the recommendation.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in City Hall, 1525 Broadway.
