In 2014, the Longview City Council and Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District formed a Customer Advisory Committee (CAC) to learn about the Longview water supply system, consider options to improve drinking water quality, and make a recommendation to the City Council and Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District Board of Commissioners.
The committee was composed of 14 water customers served by Longview or Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District with multiple interests and backgrounds, including residents from various neighborhoods, business owners, healthcare providers, and environmental or engineering professionals, all to represent the community at large. There is also one liaison representative from each the Longview City Council and the Beacon Hill Water & Sewer District Board.
The goal of the Customer Advisory Committee was to provide a recommendation for a sustainable, safe and satisfactory water supply for Longview/BHWSD water customers.
To do this, the CAC:
Eight committee meetings were held between January and July 2015. One additional informal meeting was held in March 2016. Committee meetings took place in the Training Room at City Hall, 1525 Broadway, Longview WA at 6:30 p.m.
